For those international readers this might be surprising to know, but here in Australia we actually get snow. Ok the runs are short, the season is short and the expense is high but heck its only a 6 hour drive from Sydney or a 4 hour drive from Melbourne so why not.
If you are heading down or up to the slopes this season we wanted to give you a heads up on the best products for those cold temperatures and crazy winds you might experience.
Must Have Products;
- SUNSCREEN - Don't be fooled by the cool weather and the cloud cover, you can get extremely burnt at the snow, especially with all the reflective white surfaces. See below for the look you want to avoid.
- LIPBALM - You will get chapped lips, guaranteed, carry a lip balm, apply regularly, you'll thank me later. Or sunscreen lipbalm.
- THICK CREAM - A Weleda type cream, thick like a body butter, thick so it protects your face from the extreme cold it's not use too.
- EPSON SALTS - If you plan to ski/board the next day, and you have a bath where you are staying, this will help with muscle recovery, you will discover muscles you thought you never had and the bath will be your saviour.
- DRY BAG - Something to keep your valuables dry whilst you travel to and from the car or even down the slope.
- TRAVEL SIZE SCENT - No one smells good after exercising all day, carry a small scent with you and you'll turn heads for all the right reasons.
- WOOL SOCKS & BANDAIDS - A thinner wool sock and a pack of bandaids will be the best thing you pack.
- DEEP POCKETS - To cover all the costs :-)
